Well after doing the q-tip test on my fenwick HMX I figured out why lastyear my mainline kept on breaking! The season befor i had used my fenwick with braided line fishing for springs. and the braided live put a groove in my top 3 guides. My question is can this be fixed and if so where would be the best place to do so? and what guides are bestto use? I was told fuji guides were pretty good any recomendations? Thanks

There is a guy in Maple Ridge called Whonnock Joe that does rod repair. He also does some amazing custom work, in fact it is the best that I have seen. PM me and I will give you the name of the shop that has his number.

A&N will send it in to Fenwick for you. this is what they did for me and mine was just a Martin something rod but it still got replaced. if you wanna spend the money on the guides you should just buy another one probably run you the same cost. then you will have one for braided line and one for mono line use  this way no worries

So i contacted Fenwick canada again and i got a different story thistime! I was told to send the rod to them with a cheque or money order for $10.55 but the weird thing was that i was told to make the rod into 4 pieces instead of the 2 piece it comes in! Break it but be able to read the make of the rod! She told me to do this because it would be cheaper for postage and besides the rod gets destroyed anyways and i would recieve a new one regardless but i may have to pay up to 50% of the original cost depending on whats wrong with it! Now thats awesome i get a new rod within 4-6 weeks and it may not cost me anything but postage! Awesome!

I had my HMX fly rod repaired by Fenwick (it was 6 years old and had a broken tip). As I ad no warranty left, I had to pay for replacement. Cost me $80 but only took about 3 weeks. I can't see them giving you anything under warranty as you have no pfroof of purchase, so I'd plan on being on the hook for 50% the cost of a new rod.

heres the reply i got from fenwick!

Thank you for taking the time to contact us about your fishing rod. Unfortunately, we do not have a repair center for rods and also do not have any replacement parts. If your rod failed due to a manufacturing defect and is still under warranty, we will be happy to replace it with a new rod of the same or comparable model. The HMX series carries a 5 year warranty against manufacturing defects. If your rod is within the original warranty period we will need to inspect your rod to determine the nature of the break. Rods NOT covered under warranty can be replaced for 45% off of suggested retail plus $9.95 s&h. Please send your rod in a disposable container, because we do not return rod tubes. Include a brief description on how your rod broke, when it was purchased and a daytime phone number along with your full name and physical address for return delivery. We CANNOT return to a P.O. BOX. If you mail your rod, please be sure to register it for tracking. Send your complete damaged rod, dated sales receipt (if you are unable to find your receipt include the approximate date of purchase) and a $9.95 money order for postage and handling payable to Pure Fishing to the following address: Pure Fishing Customer Service 1900 - 18th Street Spirit Lake, IA 51360
