Is anyone familiar with "fifer" built rods from Burnaby? This is from years ago.
Just curious if anyone has info on them or remembers the name.
I ask only because I dug out my grandpas old mooching rod he had built for him and it reads "fifer, Burnaby bc" above my grandpas name.
Wouldn't mind reeling in a salmon for my gramps on this rod before hanging it up on the mantle.

Never heard of Fifer but I have an old mooching rod built by George Rumble of Rumble sporting goods.
I think his shop was in New West.

Get a hold of an old knuckle buster with that rod and pic of a nice spring that would look real nice.

If you Google 'Fifer rods' there is a little info but not much. My dad was a Fifer, meaning he came from the county of Fife in Scotland.

I have 2 Fifers. Got one from thrift shop years ago and caught a lot of steelhead. Also have a nice fly rod. Still use them both. If they break I fix them. Would love to add to the collection with a moocher. Enjoy yours.

I worked at Bob's Sporting good in the late '60's and I bought a 9' Spinning rod with Carballoy Guides and I still use it. Fabulous hand made rods. Fifer, really knew his stuff.
