I was a wharf rat at the original painters lodge (pre mysterious fire) in the late 70's/very early 80's and I believe Andrew Rippingale worked there or at another local lodge. He is one of the few names I know that has been around this area for pretty much his whole life. As I recall, a very personable guy that knows his fishing stuff.
