I'm staying at the Fort Langley campground in a couple weeks... right on the little backwater off the Fraser that goes between the mainland and the island that you used to be able to catch the Abion Ferry from. Worth taking a rod? Any tips?

Well that can be good for nearly all species. Right now cuthroat trout and some of the smaller sturgeon.

The water will be really dirty right now so elucheons for sturies and for cutties I'd try something with some wiggle to sense movement like small qwickfish
or even spinners.

smelt... monster cast halfway across the river near the bridge. probably had the rods in for 4 or 5 hours without a sniff, then just as we're starting to pack up, got the hit. Good times.
