Subject: FN0221-SANITARY - Area 16 - Emergency Closure for Bivalve Shellfish in a portion of Dark Cove

A new emergency bivalve shellfish closure is requested in a portion of Dark
Cove in Subarea 16-13 as a result of high levels of faecal coliform.

Emergency Closure Area 16.31 – A portion of Dark Cove

A portion of BC Land Registry aquaculture tenure # 2402768 including the waters
and intertidal foreshore of Dark Cove, Goliath Bay on the northern foreshore of
the islet east of Sydney Island inside a line from the easternmost point of the
islet at 49°48.99’ north latitude and 123°56.93’ west longitude, thence
northwesterly to the northern end of the tire breakwater at 49° 49.08’ north
latitude and 123°57.00’ west longitude, thence southwesterly to the outer edge
of the longline at 49°49.02’ north latitude and 123°57.09’ west longitude,
thence southeasterly to the westernmost point of the islet at 49°48.99’ north
latitude and 123°57.05’ west longitude, thence easterly along the intertidal
foreshore to the beginning point of the islet [Sanitary Closure Map 16.31] [NAD
January 1 to December 31
