Fishery Notice - Fisheries and Oceans Canada

Subject: FN0525-RECREATIONAL - SALMON: Region 3 - Thompson River Recreational Chinook Management Actions

The following management measures will be implemented during the dates outlined

Thompson River:

Effective July 16, 2010 to August 21, 2010 a portion of the Thompson River
(Region 3) between the upstream side of the confluence of the Thompson / Nicola
Rivers downstream to the powerline crossing between the Hwy #1 bridge at
Spences Bridge and the Hwy #8 Bridge will be closed to fishing for all salmon.

Specific management actions outlined in the South Coast Salmon Integrated
Fisheries Management Plan to protect Fraser Spring 4-2 chinook will remain in
effect after July 15, 2010. This specific area closure will provide protection
the Spring 4-2 Chinook in the Thompson River.

Variation Order 2009-312.

Sport anglers are reminded to participate in the voluntary Salmon Sport Head
Recovery program by labelling and submitting heads from adipose fin-clipped
Chinook Salmon. Recovery of coded-wire tags from adipose fin-clipped chinook
salmon provides critical information for coast wide stock assessment. For
