Subject: FN0769-Salmon: Aboriginal Economic (Beach Seine) Fishing Opportunity - Area 29 - Lower Fraser Area
Area 29 (Port Mann Bridge to Hope Bridge (mainstem Fraser River))
Beach Seines open 08:00 to 17:00 hours daily from October 16 to October 17 and
October 20 to 21, 2008.
Only individuals designated by the Aitchellitz, Chawathil, Cheam Katzie, Kwah
Kwah Apilt, Peters, Shxwhaiy, Shxw’ow’hamel, Soowahlie, Squiala, and the
Union Bar Indian Bands are authorized to participate in this fishery.
All aspects of the licence will be enforced.
This fishery is targeting chum salmon with an incidental harvest of chinook and
hatchery marked coho salmon. Chum and chinook salmon may be sold. All efforts
and attempts shall be made to return all non target species to the water
alive. This means all viable sockeye, steelhead, wild coho salmon and sturgeon
must not be retained.
