Cowichan River, Downstream of Skutz Falls to the Highway No. 1 Bridge (Silver
Bridge) effective 00:01 November 16, 2007 to 23:59 December 31, 2007 the daily
limit:
" for Coho Salmon(over 35cm) will be one (1) per day,
Notes:
Anglers are further reminded of the following:
" Efforts are being made to protect Cowichan chinook yet provide opportunities
to catch permitted species.
" Avoid encountering Chinook while fishing and if they are caught then use
extreme care in the handling and releasing of these fish.
" The use of single barbless hooks is mandatory in all streams in Region 1;
" All foul hooked (ie: hooked other than in the mouth) must be returned to the
river immediately;
" The use of bait is prohibited in this area (as per the 20072008 Freshwater
Fishing Regulations Synopsis);
" The Marie Canyon and Pumphouse Closures remain in effect until December 15,
2007 (as per the 20072008 Freshwater Fishing Regulations Synopsis);
