Fishery Notice - Fisheries and Oceans Canada

Subject: FN0931-RECREATIONAL - Salmon - Area 29 and Region 2 - Fraser River - Chum Update - Amendment to FN0930

Amendment to FN0930: Daily limit for marked coho corrected from four (4) per
day to two (2) per day.

Fraser River: Area 29 and Region 2

In the non-tidal waters of the Fraser River in Region 2 (upstream of the CPR
Bridge at Mission) the daily limit for chum salmon on the Fraser River is
reduced to zero (0) effective one hour after sunset, Thursday, October 21 until
December 31, 2010.

Subareas 29-11 to 29-17 (tidal Fraser) and the non-tidal waters of the Fraser
River in Region 2 remain open salmon fishing with the retention of up to four
(4) salmon per day which may be a combination of either Chinook or hatchery
marked coho. The daily limit for chinook remains at four (4) but only one over
62 cm. The daily limit is two (2) hatchery marked coho until to December 31,

The aggregate daily limit for all species of Pacific Salmon (other than
kokanee) from tidal and non-tidal waters combined is four (4).

Barbless hooks are required when fishing for salmon in tidal and non-tidal
waters of British Columbia. This includes all species of fish in the Fraser

Sport anglers are encouraged to participate in the voluntary Salmon Sport Head
Recovery program by labelling and submitting heads from adipose fin-clipped
Chinook and coho salmon. Recovery of coded-wire tags provides critical
information for coast-wide stock assessment. Contact the Salmon Sport Head
