I was out fishing the Capilano the other night and brought home a nice 3lb Coho doe that was not so fresh but still clean without any white spots or injury. When I fillet the fish I did find some white flecks in the meat and one dark patch. I cut out these suspect parts and put both sides in the freezer for a future dinner.

My question to the more experienced Salmon fisherman out there...Is this fish safe to eat? Will the quality of the meat deteriorate after being in fresh water for any length of time?

I'm interested in the discussion this question might raise.

were they white flakes or like puss balls, if the latter it would be parasites that are taken care off when its cooked...... the dark spot sounds like a bruise. sounds like it wouldnt be a problem..... you be amazed at what you eat in restaurants ;)
