Boys i'm looking to get into barfishing! ;D My dad used to take me along as a kid but he stopped going now so i want to start up! I have all the equipment, but just need to find where i can get some quality spreader bars! I have the episode of sportfishing B.C. where mark goes barfishing and i need to find spreader bars like they had! Dad said he tried all others but those work best! If any one knows what i'm talkin about please reply! Oh and what time of year do i need to get out there!

Are you planning on fishing the faster water of Chilliwack to hope or the lower brackish stuff.
If it's the faster stuff, JJ of Chilliwack makes the heavy spreaders and they are good, Freds has them and proally Chilliwack Dart and tackle. I think Roger at Hubs can get ya set up as well.
With Fraser River levels predicted to be low for a few years following the drought season we had, it may clear quicker than normal and provide good clarity and acces to shore bound anglers, better than past seasons.
Whether or not Chinook runs stay strong is a very big issue, lets hope.

Special Spreader bars? why do you need special spreader bars? Young Gun, just go to the closest tackle shop near you, and ask for "large" spreader bars for salmon, not trout...costs like 1.75 each.....the most basic thing ever....I know for a fact that you don't need a special spreader bar ;).....my 2 cents...bar fishing is fun once you get the hang of "where" to chuck your weight!

Have Fun
