Any action happening? I got a new reel that i bought off my dad, the old Penn big game deep water reels, trolling reel. Loaded with 30lb test. Not a marlin reel, salmon reel, its a smaller model. I'm gonna be using a bannana weight or deep six cus got no downriggers. Fishing plugs, hoochies and spoons. I got another rod loaded up with a diawa M-one and thats on 25lb test. Any area's i should concentrate around? Haven't been out since the winter springs. Heard that purple haze flashers have been producing. Also been getting reports that the usual colours for the lures are working, copcar, nastyboy, armytruck, cohoblue, pearl. Any thing else that i've missed out on?

Thanks for the replies guys

The Cap mouth has been producing some Coho and the odd Spring there or West Van shore line. Usually it's best on a flood tide, then move out in the harbour as that what the bait does. Other then that, the Q/A, red can, for the Fraser options right now. Hole in the Wall, Sunset are still giving up the odd biggy.
Good Luck

I would definatly go with planner, deep six, and such more then wieght. With mingrating springs 100' is deeper than you need and 30' can be great - exception the mouth of the Cap when white springs get there. Fish in front of the Fraser and on the way to any system are at resonable depth, surface to 100' with most around 60'. Untill they start to hold in places like off the cap in about 100'.
I always run a planner, a deep six #1 at about 30' to 60' feet and out side of infront of the Cap for white its the bomb.
Hard to net a fish with a seven foot leader to the flasher and 48" to the fish but work.
Have fun, Jason
PS. I mean in front of the Cap as with in the Pink Pallase and the River.

Went out for a couple hours this evening around the high tide. Fished the harbour, but not much happening. One 3 pound undersize spring was all I could scare up. There was a guy doing a creel cencus at the Vanier launch. He said no one had come in with a fish all day, pretty sad fishing.

Other boats seemed to be getting some action but quite a few undersized. saw a few hook ups with white hoochies aswell. will be out again monday as tomorrow its golfing time. Im a complete rookie but learning more every time out and from reading your helpful hints.thanks big jay, pippen and the rest of you all

For the highliners out there (me and another boat), yesterday was a fun fun day out there. Particularly if you could stay on the fish. I won't post the numbers and "stats" here as people will call me, my fishing buddy and the other boat liars, but we're experts/pros so that had something to do with it. For the other pros out there who didn't fare so well, adjust your tactics. Overall, I saw a few boats get some, but the "size" has dropped off a bit.

Montegobay...was a pleasure fishing with you yesterday...and we had a blast. Just wait for the mayhem at one of my favorite spots coming up in about 2 weeks! :)
