Ok so the another notice has come out from DFO about the fraser sockeye( or the lack of at this point) and with every notice they always show what the discharge levels are at Hope. The only problem is that their discharge levels are not the same as enviroment Canada's. DFO measures it at 4900cms and enviroment Canada measures it at 7123cms. Both are measured in Hope but why such a huge difference. Does anyone know?

DFO has a complicated calculation that must be performed to eliminate the mass gross error factor of the water temperature equilibrium.

Does this sound like BS? Who knows when it comes to DFO.

I don't know where Enviro Canada gets their figure from ......... but I believe this may help(??) ........... well maybe.

After "clicking" on this shortcut, select the Province, River Reading (Fraser @ Hope), Accept Agreement, Change graph on pull down menu to "Discharge".

http://scitech.pyr.ec.gc.ca/waterweb/formnav.asp?lang=0

"The current primary water level as of 2007-08-04 17:15:47 is: 6.117 metres. Most recent station visit: 2007-06-25 14:40:00, Measured water level: 7.715 metres, Measured discharge: 7123 cms. Deviation: -6% from curve 8. Curve 8 is currently used to generate the preliminary discharge values on the graph. If the recent measured discharge deviates from the curve by more than 5%, the displayed discharge information may be inaccurate and will be revised for final publication following detailed review of stage and discharge records"

Presently it is at approx. 4700 cms as per the graph. (OR THERE ABOUTS)
