With the calender turning to October some of the best fishing the Fraser valley has to offer is now upon us.
Sturgeon fishing is spectacular at this time and recent trips have witnessed 20 plus fish to the boat with many 6 foot plus fish being caught.
The Sturgeon will soon key in on the arriving Chum Salmon and fishing will continue to be stellar for all of October and November.
Chinnook fishing for fall run Chinook is also good at this time with our largest fish a 50 pound monster, hammering down on a backtrolled plug in the clearing waters of the Fraser. With clarity very good, bar fishing, back trolling and anchored spinner fishing all have been taking fish and we have had some excellent days of fighting Chinook.
Chum Salmon are also here in numbers and our clients have been getting sore armed playing hard fighting Chums on float fished jigs, probably the deadliest of all techniques for catching Chum salmon.
If you need some Bent Rods Chum Salmon jigs the following shops have a selection of our products.....
Freds Tackle
Chilliwack Dart and tackle
Army and Navy stores
Hatch Masters
Sea run fly and tackle
Riverside tackle
Berrys bait n Tackle
or call us direct for larger orders or Guide discounts
Chum Salmon fishing will last well into November and we still have some dates available in November for the best Chum fishing of the season.
Coho Salmon have begun to enter the Fraser and tribs, recently I have seen them rolling while targetting other salmon, so any day now we will begin chasing these acrobatic salmon.
Coho love backwaters, sloughs and slow moving pools, which make them a favorite of fly anglers, but casting spinners, spoons and twitching jigs all are deadly Coho techniques.
Bent Rods has a few dates available for Salmon and Sturgeon fishing, so please give us a call if you would like to spend a day catching fish with the Valleys most enthusiastic fishing guides.
