Didn't fish the lakes this year. Work all weekend in the summer on my moms cabin. I'll be sure to hit up Earnest lake next year for sure. Some of the biggest trout I've ever seen getting pulled out of there in spring of 2005. My buddy tried to get in there this year a week after may long, and he couldn't make it. We're gonna tow his suzuki samuria up there next spring. He did manage to fish black lake, and he did alright for the brookies. So I think you should go hit up Earnest and fish that front shoal hard. (strike indicator with a 14' flouro. carb. leader. Good luck

I fished Fred quite a bit a few years back, but not at this time of year, so I can't say...lots of fish in there in the 22 inch range though when I was there...
