Customer brought in a gorgeous 30+ pound red spring yesterday (go figure). Most of the big boys are in the Chilliwack River portion but there are plenty still to be had in the Canal.

With the low clear river the coho have been a bit tough to get. Early morning and evening can be the best time to target them. With a little bit of rain in the forecast things should pick up again. Fluorocarbon leader and an arsenal of tackle options (including roe) are definitely a must.

Starting to see more chum in the system, especially down low.

There is a bait ban when targeting salmon. Water is nasty brown and high right now. Probably not your best bet for hunting springs. Sturgeon have been doing very well on various baits - fresh roe, lamprey, and salmon body parts. Please check the DFO Pacific Fishery Notices or Region 2 Summary Page regularly for changes to retention opportunities. Fishing very well right now for chum, springs, and coho - lots of pesky pinks still kicking around as well.

CHEHALIS RIVER

The Chehalis has really ramped up. The rain we had last week brought the coho into the system.

OTHER RIVERS ETC.

Stave River... Good numbers of chum moving in. Before going please educate yourself on the no fishing area on this river.

Skagit River... The longer, cooler nights will translate into lower mosquito counts. We're right into green drake and October caddis season on the Skagit.

FRASER VALLEY LAKES
Your best bet right now for local lakes is Jones (from shore, boat, or belly-boat) and trolling Chilliwack Lake.

The Sasquatch Park area has some very nice lakes that will produce fish.

INTERIOR LAKES
With the shorter days the lakes are heating up. Back into chironomid season with a bit of boatmen, scud, mayfly and leech thrown in for good measure.
