the last time we fished the cap and left at ten oclock, everything was normal until we met the gate. thought we would have to stay the night and be screwed. fortunately the lock wasnt on and we got out but what the....ck. have they changed the policy or is there someone new doing the job of GATE KEEPER! is this the norm now or can i still fish in the evening? what time can i fish until?

As far as Regs. go most region 2 Rivers fishing is allowed from dawn till dusk (Because of poachers) but nothing is said for the Cap. Maybe the gatekeeper dosn't know that.

i would guess they (GVRD) are doing the same thing they do on the seymour. that is, locking the gates at dusk. in the summer it is open until 9:00pm and in the winter it is locked by 4:00 or 5:00pm, i can't remember which.

I think the regs say dawn till dusk. But at the Cap they can see there are still cars there so hopefully they won't lock you in. I guess you could fish the lower areas close to dusk to avoid any hassles.

I don't know about the Cap but the Seymour Demonstration Forest gates changed from 8pm to 7pm this week.

The reason the Cap gates get locked as it is a Park!

This is the first I have herd of the gate getting locked! If you read the sign at the gate going in it states until dusk!

I have been in there at 4am and the lastest 11pm by the time I hiked out of a spot in the cayon and the gate was wide open!
