I'm going to be on the island the first week of August with some time to kill.
I was wondering about summer steelies in Gold River.
Is it worth fishing for them this time of year and do y'all have any tips on location or techniques? (either gearchucking or fly)
Any other steelhead rivers that may have a fish or two in them?

Yes it is very worth while. Personally I'd be shooting flies in various popsicle patterns. There are some beauty fish coming out of there and ahould be peaking when you are there.
The lower Salmon and the White also have a respectable return, the Salmon infamous for larger fish than most Island rivers.
