Looking for some clarification all. As we all want to promote good fishing practices that don't target the wrong species, once the river opens we should encourage either barfishing or fishing by boat; bottom bouncing only if we get an opening for sockeye later in the season. Is that a can I hear opening? ???

You hit the nail on the head. If the sportfishing community wants to keep our options open for fishing we need to refrain from using non selective fishing methods ie bottom bouncing. This will only help in our efforts to keep on fishing . Besides there is nothing better than watching a bar rod or plug rod fold up in a rod holder and all hell breaking loose >
