Im looking to buy a GPS, fish finder unit for my new boat. I think it would be benificial to have a GPS unit to mark out sturgy holes and good crabbing spots around here. Can anyone recommened a good brand or which ones do you guys have? Thanks
I run a Hummingbird 787C2i. I am pleased with it. It has the GPS with an internal antenna which I think is much less hassle than an external antenna. It is colour screen which I highly recommend as well. From the research that I did..Garmin is the best GPS. Lowrance is the best fish finder. Humminbird is a good combo of the two. If I were to do it again..I would have got maybe one of the Humminbird Side Imaging ones..or a Lowrance that you can buy a fuel flow meter attachment and track your fuel economy to find the sweet spot. (with the price of gas these days..i think it's important).
