Can anyone tell me what the halbut limits are in the area north of Dundas Island off the coast of Prince Rupert.

Generally the limits for halibut have been changed this year for the whole BC coast. In prior years, you were allowed 2 a day with a total possession limit of 3. You are still allowed 2 a day, but the total possession limit has been reduced to 2.

barbless is right on...as of june 1 those are the limits..remember to consider releasing those big breading halis....the meat is crap anyway....

I was reading in the reg's somewhere that barbless hooks are required for all finfish. Is halibut considered a finfish?? Those huge barbs on a halibut hook are way harder to pinch or break off than those on a regular salmon hook :-\

He ment the reply from "Barbless" the member was right on. You don't have to pinch your hook for halibut.
