Almost an elder in training! Perhaps Ortho will take you under his wing and show you the ropes of a golden ager!

At this point it's about quality not quantity! :beerchug:

Have a good one Ken as I know you are and don't go home quite yet! ;)

;D Thanks guys, nice to get home and read the posts. I had a GREAT time on the Island. Hit China Creek, and the Sproat on Thursday, and 2 days on the Stamp. Unfortunately, both the freezing levels, and the water levels are equally low. Only one fish played, and lost him as he wrapped the leader around a rock. Had Ken Meyers booked for Sunday, and while we had planned to do a little bushwack steelheading, after another night of -5 temperatures, we decided to hit the "chuck". Awoke to crystal blue skies, and flat calm on the west coast. We dropped the prawn traps, and off to fish. Three minutes after dropping the lines, a double header, and then another. All in all, hooked 5, landed four, largest about 10#. Jigged for a couple of rockfish, nice Canary, but only about 3#. With a couple of baldies circling overhead, I figured I'd give one of them a free meal. Took a couple of passes, but to watch one of those magnificent birds hit the water 20 feet off the stern, and pick off the fish was unbelieveable. Back to pick up the traps, limited out on spot prawns, set the traps again, and left for Kenny's float house. Picked up the traps this morning, full again, and made our way back to Alberni. Home on the ferry, and back to the grind. All in all, the best birthday gift, and of course, given by me to myself. ;D To hell with everybody guys, look after yourself first, it's your only guarantee in life, oh yeah, besides getting older. ;D oh yeah, just waiting for my five weight to come home, I'll be out practicing on the school field!
