hole in the wall

hole in the wall is a great spot outside of nitnat lake about 1km north. this is where the big springs are right now before they enter the lake and the fishing is always dynamite there. if you run 8 miles out from there, there is a shelf that is 200-240 ft deep, simply the best coho fishing there is.

Took the boat for a spin yesterday (wednesday) before taking her home for the year...out from Sewell's Marina...saw nobody at Hole In The Wall. That area is a crap shoot right now anyway...actually, most of the time it is. Hehe! I'd try fishing the mouth of the river...the big whites are coming in steadily I hear... Cheers! -Nathan in NW

Brings back a good memory for me. Thats where I always think of as the actual hole in the wall. When I was a kid and lived in North Van my dad would drop me off at the train tracks and I'd walk all the way down the tracks and then down through the bush out onto the rocks and fish with sting sildas and jensen pirkens. I always did ok, probably averaged a fish every 6-8 hours of casting. There used to be a fair number of boats but more so in the summer. There was always a lot of squatters living in those bushes, they left quite the mess. Had a run in with a curious black bear as well.
