Nice video!! Also dat phone case.... But seriously I love to fish alone sometimes and land nice fish. Good job.
Chris---If I got to fish more often, I'd probably go alone once in a while.

But I enjoy having a partner along---also something of a safety issue, and someone to toss you a beer!

Hey BFM,
I have been wanting to paint some smaller casting spoons to save some $$ for pinks this year and am wondering what kinda steps you take to paint those spoons? Do you just add the paint on or do you use some kind of base coat like primer and then something above the paint?

Thanks Mike for the frame by frame shots that do show your two side painted spoon in the fishes mouth. By the way it was a white king that weighed in at 25 pounds.
Tommy-
No worries! Vanboozin was actually the one who saw it.

Anxious to read your reports on your Port Hardy and Winter Harbour trips-
Sounds like you never stopped catching fish.
What a change from last season for you-

Hey Mike, just wanted to let you know the spoons have arrived. They are fantastic and as Tfish has already implied, they look even better in person than the pictures. Your new holographic finish is outstanding. I'm sure there are no pictures that would do the spoons justice. They really have to be seen in hand to appreciate them fully. They almost look acid etched and then the holographic material applied. I know they aren't but that is how they look, making every one of the thousand iridescent dots look like shimmering fish scales. The second holographic spoon that has a blue back fading into the silver really looks like a winner as well.

The new hex blanks that you started using are the ones that I could hardly wait to see in person. I wasn't disappointed in the least. The lemon lime with the red eye looks great and the two tone light to dark blue is incredible. I almost wish you had only send two hex spoons of the same colour so I wouldn't have to choose which one to use first ( just kidding) I also love the different coloured eyes on each side of th spoons. Just a quick flash of red when the spoon flutters.

Its a a good thing these weren't for sale, as I would have to have 10 of each one you have made so far in every size. I can't wait to get these in the water, but I may have them already worn out just by fondling them first. Thanks again Mike, for the package.

Oly - thanks pal. I'll have to wait to get to my computer to hit "thanks"..can't do that on my phone..for some reason. The Holographic is a good spoon..I sent some up ahead to the lodge and they work well. Hell...they ALL work well. The Green/yellow is the pacesetter though. Called "Sick Boy"..it's filling tubs. Tommy caught like 40 with it in Port Hardy 2 weeks ago.
Thanks again for the good vibe--can't wait for reports and photos. Cheers-M

Is the "Tommy" you are talking about also "T-fish"?

I thought the killer he was using was metallic blue fading to chrome on one side....and a Chartreuse concoction on the back side......

Like the one in the video.....
The very one. Good eyes..his spoon was intended to just be yellow /green, but I had a shot of blue left and striped half of the belly. An accident that paid off.

Mike when i am up in Port Hardy next week I will try one of the green and yellow spoons to see what it will produce. Leave on Sunday and should be back by Thursday.
Tom..Hmmm and I are in Vancouver Monday--up to the lodge Tuesday --back the following Saturday.

We have about 200 spoons and 40+ plugs between the two tackle boxes....
I hope we get worn out!
Fishing has been fantastic in the inlet with some really large fish sowing up starting about 2 weeks ago.

If your action is slow, chug across from PH to the inlet--

Good luck Buddy!

Thanks Mike, Although I have been up to Port Hardy the past 12 years I have only done self guided trips using the boats at Duval Point Lodge which limits where I could go. Hope to get out to the Cape to do some ground fishing as well as open water salmon fishing. Your trip is on my bucket list and I hope to join you some day.

Limits where you can go? Limits schlimits--Point that thing East by Northeast and get busy!

Good luck up there--Terry and I will post reports after we return. I hope they saved some fish for us...

Mike, do you have a bet going on which lure is going to be the killer. If you do which ones have been chosen. I think I know which one I'd be using. Seen pictures with it hanging out of a nice springs mouth a while back.
