We fished it second week of August a few years back and it was high and muddy. Unusual but it can happen, depends like Junebug said, on the snowpack and temperature. A cool spring will prevent the snow from melting and delay the freshet. It appears the river is coming up now but it could come back down giving us the illusion the freshet is over, and then suddenly it spikes up again. Ah, don't you just live Mother Nature?
The weeks surrounding the month of June are the ones to watch. We are definitely experiencing higher water
levels now and depending on rain and temps, can see this through mid july . Careful as you go this time
of year. The faster ,higher waters can be treacherous with hidden dangers everywhere.
Here is the historical record for water levels at Mission from 1969 to 2010.
It shows the highest levels and lowest levels as well as 2010 in red.
It seems the water levels are rising early this year as its already at 3m.
And June is usually the peak month.

Donnely Lake in region 5 of the Cariboo has to rate as one of my favorite fly fishing lakes. 5 lb. fish are not uncommon and I personally have taken 8 lb. plus by the rock outcropping on the south east side of the lake. It has a lot of restrictions so check the regs. but because of the...
Had a great day on lower Arrow on thursday last week with 5 nice rainbow to the boat. Weather was beautiful and water very calm with a very light chop. Bows were not large with the largest being 4 lbs. However hoping of larger ones as the fall season progresses. All fish caught using hair.
