I'm heading up to Northern Rockies Lodge in a couple days and i'm wondering if anyone knows anythign about ice fishing up there. I guess anything about ice fishing in general would be useful because i know nothing about it. Im guessing there would be pike lake trout and some other types of fish. What kind of lures do you use and what technique?

anyhelp is much appreciated

I used to fish there in the warmer months when I lived in Fort St. John, good camping, I know bacon worked for Burbot (freshwater ling) and flies with maggotts worked for whitefish but I never caught a laker or Bull trout out of there but others did, but they had a boat.

I guess try the usual fare? I know once ice is off they are closer to the surface. Those jigs with red or black heads and a white 4-6" plastic tail is what people were catching them on in a boat, so maybe just jig that through the ice and maybe stick some bait on it?

I always wanted to ice fish there but never made it, sorry I could not be more help.
