Is there some easier way to tell between a red and white spring without bonking it. Someone once gave me the impression that the spots on their back were a different shape. But never had a red and a white together to compare.

Once you see the differnce with the two fish side by side it becomes alot easier. Also to the white springs once they start to get into fresh water for awhile they turn green on there backs. If you are fishing the vedder now all the springs will be white.

Not all of them are white right now. There seems to be a god mix of white and marble.

Never heard of other springs other than whites in the vedder right now.

ya there is reds in there but i dont think your going to find a large red as i know a good portion of the jacks are reds. saturday my dad and buddy each got a jack dads was white buddies was red. what about the springs that have a coppery colour to them, are these the marbles perhaps?? cause i lost one with a copper colour to it but still chrome.

as white the big boys you may find the odd marble in there but mostly they are all whites
