Hi All:Having never tried fly fished for steelhead i was wondering what would be the best colors for intruders. I have plenty of marabou and rabbit flies and dont know what colors would work for them. Thanks in advance.

Hey Raye, There are many colors that work well for steelhead. Blues, black, oranges, pinks and purple to name the most popular ones. You can combine many of these together to create the perfect steelhead fly. Black works great combined with all colors and pink is a popular color here in the Valley. Having said that in my experince, if you get the fly where the steelhead can see it, they usualy take it. When it comes to fly tying; the only rule is, there are no rules!

I agree with Rick.
All colours are good.
Whatever you have confidence in is the best colour.
Having said that, I very much like blue and purple.
Browns and burnt orange is a fave combo for summer/fall fish.
