Read the following articlce from an international organization that tracks Salmon population trends. The article is from this weeks Vancouver Sun, and is more evidence that local Salmon stocks are severely threatened.

TheBigGuy Not surprized with the report. There's been so many drift nets day after day in the Fraser R. Then sockeyes are heavily fished past Hope also... Really there has to be maybe 2 days per wk. for example allowed to fished for them by nets then the other five days are allowed for escapement & allowing enough fish to spawn... It's in the interest to everyone. As the article says the Skeena & Fraser R are in trouble & both rivers are OVER FISHED yr after yr...in my view. Knowing human nature it's not possible... the only time people will cry out is when only 1000 sockeye will return... by then it's too late... Look at what happened to the fishery on the east coast of Canada !!! Thanks for the post.
