Decided to give Jacko another shot today (probably the last one) Hit the lake at about 8:30 and was surprised to see only 3 other vehicles there. The wind was already picking up and the lake choppy. There was no signs of life on the water and I hit nothing on sinking tip with and assortment of leeches. I switched to a full sink and within 5 minutes nailed one. It went for a burn for about 5 seconds and it was gone,,,,,felt like a good one!!! but never did see it. The wind started to howl and I was pretty much forced off the lake. By the time I got to shore there were trucks lined up to get their boats in. By the time I was loaded and gone there were 28 trucks in the parking lot..... I never saw anyone else hook into anything while was fishing. Maybe if it were not as windy I may have had more luck. Glad to see it warming up finally. Hopefully there will be some more iced off lakes by next weekend. Everytime I fish here it is like Lake Superior!!

I always have bad luck with fighting the wind any time I go there.... I have heard there are some big ones there. I caught opne about 3 lbs last year. The pressure on that lake is intense.

It mellows out in a week, assuming ice is off elsewhere. I have fished it in May and found it quite pleasant. May I suggest using a floating line with an indicator? Jacko is perfect for indicator fishing. Of course if you enjoy the surprise tug a sinking line provides stick with it.

I tried used that set up last year a couple of times but did not hook into anything, nor did anyone else. I do not have much luck in that lake. most of the fish I saw on my finder were in about 30 ft of water.
