Re: Vedder Conditions January 14

The river is in amazing shape. from the slab to the train bridge, the water clarity is perfect. It was really cold in chilliwack last night and this morning. I managed to fish Sunday Monday and today . Sunday i hooked and lost a nice Hatchery Doe, :wallbash: yesterday i managed to hook into three steel first a wild then 2 hatchery's, i bonked the last fish as the weather started to get real nasty, and today a brief couple of headshaked and that was it. Seen 2 nice fish paired up in some shallow water as well @ the upper jail area. To bad my vacation time is over and iam back to work tomorrow. When i get a chance i will have the pictures up on the web!!

Re: Vedder Conditions January 14

Today the water conditions were the best I have seen in years, perfect colour and height and where I was very little pressure from other anglers. At one point in the day I forgot I was on the Vedder and thought I was in steelhead heaven. ;D Tonight I dug out my old fishing journals to look back in the past and compare too today's outing. This outing cracks my top five. See you in the morning. sage

Re: Vedder Conditions January 14

Well i was out Tuesday
Water was in great condition quite low which was good as i could get into some new runs crossing the river here and there
I hit a popular spot first

no one else there
fished it well with shrimp, pink worm, wool etc
nothing
moved around quite a bit but nothing for me
One guy told me he had just lost a nice one on a pink worm
and another guy lost one and he seen a 8lb hatch released

Man it was quiet out
just how i like it

New rod worked well but my guides kept freezing up till the sun came out 8)

dont worry about the freezing eyes Brit cause they get even worse when you start tossing a fly. sometimes making it very hard to cast or retrieve for that matter. not to mention it gets especially annoying with a pin cause you cant cast until you break it free. the freezing never bothered me with my levelwind.

Someone was telling me that he also used it for lubing his pin.
It's better to give then receive...Though we don't call Merc "half crack" for nothing :naughty:
