Does anyone else here keep a fishing log? (dates, times, weather pattern, size, fly, etc?)

I've been using this one for a few months: Fisherman's Log. The best feature? It's free!!

ya me and my dad continue to add to our steelhead log, started in 1996! :thumbup: shows where he used to fish and where we do recently. there is also alot more multi fish days then than now!

I definitely keep a log of every trip - I bought a hard covered Diary at Liquidation World for a couple of bucks and use about a page for a big day trip or couple day session and a small entry for unsuccessful trips - I keep track of the moon phase as well and the bite time as per my GPS and check to see if it works (when I remember) - I try to keep track of every fly I tried which can be difficult to remember and the line I used and who I fished with - of course what success I had and a description of the fish as the rainbows really vary where I fish especially by time of the year - Since I sometimes go to the Okanagon I put a coloured dot on the page for that so I can relate back if I am returning to a lake over there - I have been doing it for a year so have some useful info and can answer any questions or discussions that come up months down the road Anyhow I find it useful

I have been entering info into my fishing journals since 1992. I am now into my 3rd journal now. I have notice many trends and dissapointments over the years. From the old favorite runs of the Vedder and Chehalis that are now gone to the excitement of landing steelhead on the Dean, Killbela and Chuckwalla rivers. In my honest opinion the journal is the most important info that any angler can have to look back on. When I enter info in mine. I try not to leave any details out. From the method of fishing too what the weather was doing that particular day... I have a close friend that I visit maybe twice a year and the first thing he asks me is where are your journals... Than he makes the decision on where we will be fishing for the next week...

I think I will write a novel in my twilite years or when the steelhead and salmon are just a memory in the west coast.
