Went up to try out my new pin rod. Turned out excellent and actually managed to catch a bunch of trout and a big boot on jigs with it...
But the fun part came when I drove up to the cement slab...I walked over to see what was happening and no one was fishing it...two fishery officers were there checking guys and I guess that put the fear of god in a few...I walked up and started gabbing with them..Neither had ever been on the Vedder and didn't know anything about what goes on up there...I asked um if they knew about the limit hole..and they didn't, I pointed it out to them and said..."Just go up and park away from it a bit..walk in but stand back and watch"....Off they went and they were still there when I left...hope the writters cramp wasn't too bad... :naughty:

I guess they don't get out in the field too often. :-\

Alot of the time during salmon season they bring extra DFO in from other areas, so it's probably not a matter of not getting out, just not knowing this area

hopefully they see what's going on in there and write up some tickets in hopes to dicourage the snagging from people.I find it amazing how the fishermen know when to stop when dfo are there but once their gone its back to busness for them :naughty:

One was from port alberni and the other, I don't know. They had never been to the Vedder and thought Slessy creek was down by the tamahi bridge so told the guys they couldn't keep any salmon for retention unless they were fishing down lower...I hate to say it but I agreed with them...Ok, so i'm evil...then someone else told them that it was up higher and ruined my fun...oh well...Nice to see um all the same...

good to hear they are least trying to discourage the snagging of fish. Was up there wed this week and what a mess, IT WOULD BE NICE IF PEOPLE WOULD PICK UP THEIR GARBAGE!!!!!!!!! Must have got at least 100 yards of line and 15-20 hooks
