Being born and raised in Yarrow that was quite a intresting read. I knew where the boundries of the Sumas lake were , but never knew where the chilliwack rivers flowed after they passed the vedder Xing area, or how they reached the Fraser. The fact that the containment by dyking areas and armouring vunerable banks seemed like a bad thing according to the report strikes me as kind of a strange perspective. The whole armouring of banks doesnt that prevent erosion which keeps excessive amouts of soil/ sediment out of the flows. :Thus protecting not only human habitat, but also fish habitat.
Good read Darmin...Being a local, I too knew a bit of the local history surrounding the lake(Sumas), but found it quite interesting reading how the old path of the river flowed. Sometimes when out on the water, I try to imagine what this area was like a 100 years ago.
