Please pardon my ignorance for this dumb question but I have been unable to find any mention of "King Salmon" in the DFO site or on this board. I have been offered a half day fishing near Sitka for King Salmon in mid may and am wondering just what a king is. Is this the American spelling of another species or stand alone type of salmon? Anyone have a link explaining or defining this fish?

Thanks

Thanks for the linguistic tip. Explains why I can't find it anywhere. Would you know why Chinook is called Spring - Never mind that. Of course because they arrive in the spring eh?

So much to learn. . .
