Fished the Kitimat the past couple days. Down below the hatchery, didnt see much being caught with guys bottom bouncing except for the odd chum being hauled in by its ass. Float fished with a small wool tie making casts no more than 20 feet and I was in to 5-6 spring jacks, 3 adult springs, biggest around 25 and a couple dollies.

Water was up with the recent rain and fish were running close to shore. Showed another angler how to rig a float, with pencil lead and wool and he was into 2 spring jacks right away.

was also at kitimat below the hatchery. a few old chums being caught by some noob bb-ers some in the ass some in the face just. tuff for finesse float fishing even though its a perfect run the fish are to spooked except some at the back end in close. got 3 small springs biggest 20lbs. all in the late evening and early morning flossing right down the middle of the river. a few fresh chums being caught but not like usual the high tide run was week. nor many pinks. fly flossers were in force too picking up a few chums in the fast shallow stretches when a run came by. got one small coho too. please don't complain i'm a realist and the river is a total hatchery meat fishery not a natural jewel like the bulkley or morice.
