Spent the last 5 nights up at Knouff.
Saying the fishing was slow is an under statement.
The B.C. Ambulance crew were up there having a derby and a load of other activities.
If it wasn't for their nightly booze draws and games for the kids, it would have been a boring week.
Had to leave before the pig roast, but if was anything like Karoke night, I'm sure it was a blast.
Caught a nice fish on the Sunday night before I knew the derby was on, and that was it for the rest of the week.
I even resorted to a worm and spinning rod. Nothing.
Still think that Knouff Lake has a top notch resort on it.
Don and Gloria work hard to keep the place clean and problem free.

Sucks to hear about the slow fishing. Glad you had a good time though. Do you know what elevation is the lake at? That probably had something to do with the quality of fishing.

knouff lake

in response to slow fishing, the main reason is water temperature. As a resident of the area I've fished knouff and surrounding lakes extensively since ice-off. The week before and during your visit the lake temperatures were extremely warm due to the weather. This makes the fish feed just before dark and not every day.
