Just returned from a trip to Langara. Have been up there many times and the fishing seems to get worse every year for Chinook. It seems the fish dont hang around there very long before they are off to other locales. Out of 13 boats the average number of chinook caught per day was about 6-8 over a 5 day trip. If you read the OBMG posts on fishing you would think it was on fire -double headers at Andrews Pt. There was bite there the day they reference, for about an hour.
The West coast of the charlottes (Rennell, Tasu, Engelfield) seems to be much better, if anyone is considering a trip it is probably better to go out there. OBMG is offering discounts up to 65% for their Langara lodges if you book a week or so before, so it isnt too expensive to get up there. Perhaps a combination of spotty fishing, a low US dollar and economic issues in the US.
