I just got back home from the best fishing deal ever, from the Langara Island Lodge in the Queen Charlette Islands.
It has been quite a while since I have been fishing out on the chuck.....and the sea gave me quite a nice "Welcome Back" experience.
I wasn't quite sure what to expect, hearing it was very dead the previous week and only seeing 4 fish come to the dock (from the entire list of guests staying at the lodge) the day before I went out. I guess I went out on the right day, the fishing was great!.....No huge monsters, but I was quite happy with the first Spring I caught (22.5Lbs) so when I brought the 2nd to the boat(about 10 - 12Lbs.), I decided to release it back to grow some more. I was suprised to hook into a 5LB coho.....not huge but still nice.
With only a couple hours of fishing time left, I decided I would like to have a go with some halibut......the halibut didn't seem to be too interested in my lure but I did set the sook into a 50Lb skate (released) and then I caught a 19Lb lingcod :D
It's a good thing Susanna was there to get a couple halibut to the boat......again no monsters, but nice eating none the less.

Yes the fin is there.....it's just hard to see because it kinda blends in with my black sleeve, it's just left of my thumb.....but it sure was wild (and very tasty)
