I Was planning on heading up for our anual fishing trip with all my buddies to the Port Douglas area and accessing it via the Douglas road (Pemberton end). I have heard that the Lillooet river is flooded and the road is closed, has anyone been up there or is up there and seen the damage, we are planning on heading up Thursday should we make other arrangments.

I'm not suprised at the river level it was medium high a couple of weeks ago! Hopefully with this cooler weather it has slowed the meltoff especially at night.I suspect this is true.I'll see if I cxan get a report from some family that have the Birkenhead in there backyard.

I drove that area yesterday. Along the Lillooet River and the lake there were many spots that were flooded. If you are coming from Pemberton, there are signs about 14 km down from the 99/Duffly lake rd junction. saying the road is closed due to flooding. We came through from Harrison and although there was lots of water, we had no problems. Im guessing though, the water is probably on the rise still and precaution should be taken.
