Has anyone had any luck on this small flow on the fly? There are usually a small number of guys who set-up further up river in a small hole but that seems more like fish in a barrel style. I was curious if anyone had any luck out further in the flow towards the tide line or casting the surf during the tide shift?

hey keepa, I personally haven't fished the little campbell but i do believe that most of the flow from the 99 highway towards the train bridge is on native land and you'll need permission before fishing it,

That is a big 10-4 buddy....You cannot access this area without permission(but it is usually granted)...Have to go to the Band office in person......Ortho 8)

good luck at the band office, i tried a few years back and they gave me the " we are assessing the fish numbers before we give access". good thing they have the hatchery to supplement their food fishery and count the fish as they make it to the fish fence? needless to say i never did get a phone call to say that it was ok to enter their land even tho the hatchery had great returns that year.

Thanks for the replies guys. I have seen plenty of people on the White Rock side of the river, the consensus seemed to be that if you kept to that side there wasnt much aggrevation. With all the responses on permission, has anyone actually been given it and been succesful down there?

don't people usually PM because they don't want randoms that aren't members to see what they are writing? I'm sure if someone is PM'ing another guy on the site, they would also pm someone else with the same question!
Eitherway, I'm gonna have to disagree with that! :beerchug:

On the otherside, it is sad to think that the run won't be there in future years. All the more reason to write your politicians and tell them what's up! Or just write into the paper...get's more people thinking and with more people thinking there is a greater liklihood that something will be done about it!

I question those counts...as I know a guy on the other side, and have seen many fish come out of there ...not for us though :hmmm: :'( someone please tell me how ethical fishermen can make a difference without being cheated themselves???nobody likes to be cheated..thus the harvesters....I have no doubt that is why my grandchildren will not know fishing... :pissed: :pissed:

The good ole Mud Run. Back in the day when coho used to return, guys would bottom fish with air injected dew worms. Thoses days are long gone though... :'( :'(
You're best off to leave this stream alone. The diligent work of the hatchery volunteers will someday bring this stream back as a shadow of its former self someday

The only reason there is any run at all left in the Little Campbell is due to the hard work of the volunteers in this group:

http://sfgc.ca/

Check out their website and stop by to chat with the volunteers, these guys put in 100's of hours a year to allow the modest coho fishery on this system to continue. There are lots of great guys that are good sources of information on the area, maybe if you spend a few days volunteering to help them out they will let a few insider tips about fishing the area slip.........

Spent many days wandering that little flow.
Havent fished it in 10 years and probably never will again as in its hey day it didnt have many fish.
With the many types of fish that were in there you never knew what you might pull out of that mucky little ditch.
I miss those days of simplicity, when all you needed was a can of dewies.
