Hi,
I just a bought a 18.5 foot boat and was wondering if anyone knew of any local(Vancouver & Coast) lakes that could launch a boat that size and would be worth fishing? I usually fish the Cariboo i.e. Sheridan,Bridge,Horse,etc. but I'm sure there is some good places locally worth checking out.
Any help on this would be great.

Pitt Lake is your best bet
Alouette Lake also has a good launch but tends to be a bit of a zoo
umm... why not try the fraser river. I launch my 18 footer from coquitlam or mission without any problems

You could always head up to Chilliwack lake and troll deeper also.

Thanks for the help guys, I will give them a try. I was thinking I'd give Kawkawa a go as well, heard some good things.
A buddy used to fish Cultus and said he was getting into lots of dollies, has anyone had any luck there?

A bit off your topic.... but I am thinking of heading up to Sheridan lake and other surrounding lakes for a few days of fishing.. Can you recommend a place to stay. I checked into the sheridan park resort. Do you know anything about this place?

Sheridan Park Resort is usually where i stay when i'm fishing Sheridan. I really enjoy it there. The owners are Gil and Marcy, very nice people and Gil would point you in the right direction fishing wise if your new to the lake. Half of the cabins have toilets and showers which is a plus and there is a small playground for kids. The only down side i found was the 3.5 horsepower outboards meaning it's going to take you about 20 minutes to get to the big island which is where most the action is during the summer. But they run great and are perfect for trolling. If they have a vacancy it would definetly be worth a go. Cariboo Bonanza Resort on Horse Lake is another good one but it also receives heavy booking. Just got back from there, hit a 15lb laker and a bunch of nice size kokanee and rainbow. As a last resort, if you find everywhere your calling is all booked up Hathaway Lake has two resorts on it and they are usually half empty. The fishing is poor at best there but it puts you within a half hour of lots of great fishing lakes.
