Hi All. I'm looking at picking up a 2003 Mercury 380 HD inflatable and I've read mixed reviews about them. Does anyone have any experience with the older Mercury boats? Thanks!

It's a beefy boat, but a 13 year old PVC boat will be at the end of its usable life if it has seen much use or been stored in the sun.
Stick with hypalon if you want an older boat. Mercury calls it "Achilles HP" material.

Not that I have seen. I have a PVC boat (Bombard owned by Zodiac) that's about the same age that I use 3 or 4 times per year on rivers - it gets hard use but I haven't had any issues.
PVC is not UV resistant so if it has been in the sun at all, the fabric will break down.

Thanks for the info. I might go take another closer look at it and I've also found a Zodiac MK2c Futura that is in good condition with a 2013 15hp yamaha 4 stroke. The engine is nearly new so even if i only got a few years out of the boat it wouldn't be the end of the world
