Anyone fish Mabel lately? I'm up there for the 7th to the 10th of Sept. Lots of chat about springs from the locals on my stops in town, but I haven't talked to anyone that has actually caught a fish up there. I have no knowledge of the lake. Any ideas? It would be apreciated. I'm fishing with my 6 year old and he'd love a lunker.

I was up at Mabel about three weeks ago and heard good things about the salmon being caught. I was told about one local that had caught four in the week he was fishing.That was at the south tip of the lake , around the provincial park. For a more informed , yet possibly biased, report . You might try calling Mabel lake resort. The most fished area is right out in front of the resort. At the mouth of the river. I'm told at peak times it's a bit of a gong show. So many fishermen competing for such a small area. Any time you can get out on Mabel lake is good. It's a really beautiful lake. Dolly varden are great there. Good luck. Tight lines . Sharp hooks.
