Aloha from the beautiful Island of Maui!...I am located 30 miles West of the Kahalui airport halfway between Lahaina & Kapalua in a small, quiet area called Kahana. Currently, the weather is overcast and a few clear breaks with a temperature of 20C. On arrival, last night my wife and I took a stroll around the neighbourhood and wouldn't you know I sighted my first fish within 5 minutes. It was a small catfish in a freshwater lagoon just at the edge of the property. There were lots of small bass as well and I have heard tales from the locals already that this very stream does have a large population of BIG bass, but much further inland in the jungles.
For now, I am making calls and setting up the freshwater/saltwater charters and watching the giant sea turtles and grey whales frolicking in the waters right outside my door.........Ah yes, this definitely beats working!.Todays fishing report from the Island will be up this evening........Ortho 8)
