With 2 friends I spend a week in Houston from September 9th till the 15th. We stay in the Pleasant Valley Motel and want to fish the fly for steelhead on the Morice.
Is there anybody else in that period?
I heard that a jetboat can be very helpfull on that river
By the way, we are Dutchmen.

steelynightmare that is just a plain and simple ignorant comment!
did you notice how many posts that gentleman has made on this board.
Well it was his first, no wonder people get fed up with this site and will not post.

Bramsplace, if you need some directions into some fishing holes on the Morice I think that I can help you with a couple. Just PM me and we can talk about it. I fish the morice every year, but unfortunately won't be out that way until october.

Wiley, why don't you just post a map of all your favorite runs on the internet for everyone to see. Then, the next time you go there won't be any room for yourself. Think about it. :? There is also something to be said for going to a river for the first time and figuring things out on your own. Much more interesting than being spoon fed. Yes there are steelhead in that system so go there figure it out and have some fun.

guys, it's not my intention to ask for all kinds of hot spots. I think I'm experiencied enough to find my own fish on a river.
I've been fishing that area since 1999 and the Kispiox since 1990. And during each trip I've met fly fishermen from several places and I like to exchange experiences with them.

I don't think that I'm going to have to compete with people for my "hot spots" there pkk. I have been fishing the Morice for four years now and have yet to have more than two other people I don't know in my hole. The last 2 years, I haven't seen a soul all day, evertime I've been out. I know more than my fair share of spots. I think that us northerns can share a few holes to our fellow fisherman.

I mean, the morice is not the vedder!!! And it will never be.

Haha. Yeah, I've been stealheading on the vedder this past spring and there was at least 30 people crowded in the same hole going after a few fish that could be seem from the keith wilson bridge. Not my cup of tea anymore. :D

yeah, when the fishing is slow it can be very nice to look at other people doing their recreation thing near the water! Especially during this very, very hot July in the Netherlands where topless is accepted by law!
I spend quite some time in my boat 'fishing for pike', so I can agree with you Gofish!
But as soon as we leave Vancouver next month for Smithers, our eyes will be focussed on steelies.
I still have a secret wish to hook a bigger one than the 43-incher I caught in September 1998 on the Kispiox!
