Moved to the Rock

Just moved back to Nanaimo from North Vancouver and was wondering how the fishing is ??

What are my options I have never fished any of the Island rivers before. I think the Stamp and the Nanaimo would be the closest also the Big Qualicum. Are these rivers still producing Salmon ? When do the Steehlead start ?

Any tips or advice on which rivers to target and what is running would be greatly apreciated I assume Coho are nearing the end and Spring ??Then Chum will roll in early November.

Or if someone needs a fishing buddy I am keen to go. I have spent the last month getting settled into the new Job so have not fished in too LONG !

Hi Mike,

Sounds like you and I are in the same boat. Just moved here myself from Langley. I was actually thinking of spending a few hours fishing Saturday morning if your into it. Just gotta figure out where.

I am on my way to Victoria Saturday / Sunday. Any weekend after that for sure.
