The day started off great, this wasn't a fishing trip yet a what was suppose to be a nice boat ride with a "date".
We launched at Rocky Point and headed on up to Granite Falls at the top end of Indian Arm,, boat was bogging a little off the line but otherwise was runnin great

so we dicided to head off and go for lunch at the quay at the sea bus terminal, boat was running good again until we got under the 2nd narrows bridge, it didn't sound right so I powered down a bit and won't you know it she stalls, I go to start her and nothin, battery is good just wont turn over, great Tide is coming in and we are in the narrow shipping lanes, not good so on the horn to Vancouver Coast Guard who places a call on all channels and wouldn't you know it this shows up,, a nice big 36 foot boat with the C-toe clearly marked, dam I thought this is gonna cost me, so he starts his speach and well in the end it wa a $100 bucks an hour!!! 2.5 hours back to my truck and an hour for him to come back so $350 bucks later I made it to the truck, so I have a feeling I blew the ol girl up, anyone got a good 125+ merc??

Hey, at least you had a good looking woman to spend the day with. Won't take all the sting off of a $350 tow bill and the cost of a motor repair...but it's mitigating circumstances.

Not really, all they do now unless you are in danger of sinking or on fire or someone is dying is reffer the call to a commercial rescue vessal. Not like the good old days when they would respond to almost all calls. I remember when C-Tow first started they offered memberships like BCAA and even carried jerry cans of fuel that they would sell to boaters that ran out. Those days are long gone and now it's all about the hourly rate. Sorry to hear about your day R/P, I hope it's notthing too major................................

Thanks for clarifying that, bill...Roscoe said "C-Toe" in his post. Even though I deduced what he meant...it's a very unfortunate mistake to make, especially when one is referring to a "date" in the same post. Just thought I'd give a head's up!

She's toast, looks like head gasket went filled with water and piston smashed inside cylinder, yup she is seized solid as a rock!! So looking at buying a new Honda 150 4 stroke, anybody have one of them and can tell me honestly what they think, likes- dislikes, thanks guys.

Honda's good but if I had to choose I'd say go Yami. Nothing but good reports ,super quite. great
on gas and I think the metalic light blue would look better. :thumbup:

That totally sucks about the engine. Did you hear a explosion or any other strange noise when the head gasket went?
If i had to replace my merc i'd go with a yamaha. Maybe look at one of those lease returns to take the sting out of the bill
