You don't need a guide to fish those lakes, lol, save yourself $500 and just Google itIm going to try bass fishing this summer for first , I think I'm going to try vasseux or osoyoos lake , hire a guide I've used from kelowna I've never fished bass with him but he charters everything ... He told me on his days he's not guiding if he's fishing , he's fishing bass. I thinking that all these bass shows on fishing network sold me .
i was just thinking to get the hang of it , but I've watched enough bass shows on tv that I think I could enter a tourney , I'll use some sort of wiggler worm twitched , or some crank baits ripped across the water sounds fun , not much into fly fishing usually just troll some big leeches once in awhile and caught some monsters . But casting seems entertaining long as your catching .You don't need a guide to fish those lakes, lol, save yourself $500 and just Google it
I quite enjoy bass but don't keep any local. Usually firm, white meat and tastes excellent with the classic butter/lemon salt/pepper.How does bass taste ?
sweet fish man , those things are prob a blast with the right gear ... Are you willing to divulge any secrets hahalots of bass around in the south okanagan right now... no boat needed...![]()
Mill Lake in Abbotsford has some bass. Use worm, or small sculpin / micro bass patterns too.Thats great! Im pretty sure silvermere and hatzic lake are the only two lakes around here with bass until you go to the okanagan...please correct me if im wrong
Catching bass is addicting haha and silvermere is the best lake to do it. Shore fishing is excellent use any baitI'd just like to catch a few of them unless it's to addicting , I'd probably fry one up as well gotta try it .
Dont block the gate with the no trespassing sign when u park and u will be fine to fish there thats where i always fishWhich side along the higher way can we fish? the east side has some room for parking. the west side has a "no trespassing" sign. I have been there today but find nobody there fishing

Generally they are 1-4 pounds but i have heard a story fron one of the residents about doneone catching a 9 pounderOk Thanks Salmonfisher, How big are those bass? Above one pound?
I was wondering about fishing here, I just don't know where to park the car and get a spot to fish. It looks like it's just bush off the highway from google maps. can you also park on the southwest side of the lake? where theres a pullout off the highway? I know im a tad late to this conversation but if someone could answer that be amazing!Hello everyone, so i thought if some of you were bored you might want to read about my bass fishing day at silvermere lake as some of you bash my other posts pretty much saying im "all talk and no play" well lets get started at the beginning...i left poco at around 2:00 pm and took a 30 min drive to silvermere lake which is right outside of mission. Silvermere lake is an invasive species studu meaning that they introduce invasive fish to see what impact they have on a natural population of fish. They brought largemouth bass which completely dominate all other fish species in the lake. So anyways it is one of the best cass lakes in B.C. But it is a private lake so you cannot use boats, but can fish from the shore. People who choose to take a boat there are met by angry residents who sometimes call the police. (Sidenote you are allowed to use a boat if u have a property on the lake). Today we parked right next to the highway which is the only place people who dont own a property there have access to. There are lots of prickly bushes so where you can walk is very limited and it is almost like a cliff butbthe fishing is worth it. We used baits that resemble fish and caught 10 bass and 2 black crappie. Something interesting is that a pack of 10 baits that resemble fish (forgot the name sorry) which costed $2 outfished a lure that costed $6 which i found was pretty interesting. The lake is only good in summer months when the water heats up and if you have a spare day i definitely recommend u try your luck there as its really fun. The fish were biting well from 2-4 but the fishing was almost dead from 5-6 then it really picked up after that. We left around 8 an it was an awesome day overall. I hope u enjoyed my story and i will write next time i fish. Please feel free to ask questions in the comments. Im so sorry i couldnt get pictures i left my phone in the car. (Sidenote#2 i kept both black crappies and a few bass and plan on cooking them) now ill tell u some funnies and fails: i landed a bass all the way up this small cliff sort of and it came off the hook and flopped all they way off the cliff but into water so fortunately it was fine. My brother fished with about 3 feet of line and a dragonfly on the end of it and actually managed to catch 2 sunfish (i think the same one got caught twice) thank you for reading please feel free to leave feedback and tell me if you enjoyed it
