Howdy everyone.
I'll be heading up to the QC for three months leaving in early Feb. and need a bit of advice, first off I've purchased a new spey outfit and need some casting lessons anyone up that way that teaches spey casting? Being from Alberta and have never fished for steelhead I also plan on hiring a guide for at least one full day just to get the hang of steelheading any recommendation?
Thank you all in advance.

If you get in touch with Rick Stahl he works at the Masset House, which I beleive is part of the Queen Charlotte Lodge. He is a great caster and a good teacher plus he guides on the local waters there. Fishing had been real good up there so you could be in for some good times! PM me if you want more info, he is a good friend of mine and im sure I can set you up!
I'm the construcution manager for the installation of a new warden cabin on Huxley Island down in Gwaii Hannas. Heading out in two weeks and I'm pretty pumped about the whole thing, except for the weather. Both the job and the opportunity to spend a bunch of days fishing for steelhead should turn out to be a very memorable adventure. Any suggestion on flies that I should be tying before heading up? I also need to pick up some odds and ends any good fly shops on the way from Jasper to Rupert?
shops to check out would include Oscar's sprots in Smithers, Fish Tales and Misty River in Terrace and Traylings tackle in Prince Rupert. All these shops should have some nice flies and fly gear. Look closely around Oscar's
Check out my posts for region 6.

There are a few good guides in the QCI but the most recommended are Brian at Naden Lodge (http://www.nadenlodge.bc.ca) and Norm Desilets (250-557-4447) who runs his own one man guide shop out of Port Clements. Of the two I would recommend Norm for his knowledge of the Mamin and Yakoun systems, he prefers to flyfish (as do you), and provides a mean lunch! Brian is one of the few that drift the Yakoun and he gets some real monsters.

Best of luck!
